Healing Continued: The Reveal

About 7 days ago, I shared... my experience about getting my first tats.

I didn't post any pics because at first I was a bit guarded about revealing....

No... this wasn't about awkward places or the appearance.... It was more about what they mean to me.

I have since changed my mind. The reactions that I have received from folks have been surprising. Not shocking just interesting but surprising....

This is my tat... to the left. It is called the Star of the Morning and what is represents speaks to the spiritual journey that has enveloped my life since I was a child.

My world has always been viewed against a backdrop of what I have come to call.... REAL TIME and APPLIED spiritual activity.... meaning since the age of 7, I have known that I was different and had the ability to see things others haven't.

And so.... this tat is a stamp of what I have come to understand as a manifestation of those invisible principles that not only govern this existence but also sustain my life.

I ask that you study and discover something not so obvious about yourself... Spirit deals with us all.

A Healing Perspective

A few weeks ago, I endured an experience that was quite valuable.

I got my first tattoos. You may ask, why now and more so what did you get?

Well, the answer to both of those questions lie in the reason for being tatted in the first place.

Many people don't know nor probably realize that the practice has been done all around the world.

Now it was my turn to capture a perspective of my relationship with the world and display it on the most important slate of my life... my temple -- my body.

The results were well fantastic.

38 1/2 weeks and counting!

As I sit cooking dinner for my family and of course multitasking I began to think of the beautiful notion that is birth... though this will be a total of 7 and only the second child that I have birthed, it still feels and will continue to feel like I have had all of them. I have been asked, " how do you do that?" I simply reply with, " I prayed for this and I would gladly have it no other way." So now as my hips are spreading in preparation for birth which is why I am sitting in the first place LOL!! I say Modupe O Orisha, Modupe O Egun, Modupe O Yemonja,Shango and Oshun because I know without them all this could not and would not be possible. Being a big momma is not always easy in this busy house of mine but the work is the work and it is so that I can be a blessing in my children's lives and raise them to be wonderful spirit filled adults. Sometimes, I'm like will they ever say thank you mom and when I think that .. they do and then I say can you please make your bed and they stomp off to their rooms not wanting to do chores and I start fussing and they laugh because they know I wouldn't fuss if I didn't love them. And don't think that hubby is not supporting...trust me with him being in school and all the other wonderful things that he does.. he supports. Everyday there is an assurance that not only what I have chosen is for me .. but that I have chosen right and I am glad everyday that I did not pass it up. 38 1/2 weeks and counting our last is coming soon!!

P.S. This is our last one I promise LOL!!! hehehehe

That New House Feeling

I have that new house feeling.. We just moved into our new house and it is great and I am thanking Orisha everyday because if not for them and Egun ( Ancestors ) then I would not have made it this far. We are about and getting it furnished and being relieved at the same time that what we have prayed for has not only come to pass but has also gone beyond what we expected and that is all Spirit. I have seen with my own eyes the realness of people and I expect them to be who they are and nothing less.... To all those that think that I have left them behind I am sorry... and I can only say that our time together was meant to be and that I still love you..But this blessing over here is flowing like a never ending river!!!

Happy Birthday to me!!! and some thoughts for this day of a quarter century old I am not who I used to be... I am new and as I write by this candlelight I have reason for wanting to take flight and yet I must stay.. I am no longer voodoo child but renowned voodoo woman , I am always student and forever teacher , I am on this path for a better me and I know that I will fulfill my destiny and beyond... I am not trying to ignore.. I will get back to you soon..

Hello Universe!

No, I am not dead. Just renewed and resurrected with more determination then before.

You see, Death had been keeping my company and recently decided to visit someone else.

He had kept my company long after taking the love in my life and that teacher that I loved ...well away... to the next plane, but not from my heart.

You see, during this great ordeal called LIFE, I kinda paid attention to something that could be easily overlooked but hard to ignore.... that LOVE is STRONGER than DEATH... and even more stronger than DOUBT, DESPAIR and any other destructive "d" word.

Sooooo, given that apparent "d" pattern, I decided to take on a little juju from that which caused so much pain. I figured with a mix of sorrow and a mix of pleasure with a dash of anxiety and a pinch of hope, I will introduce myself as, D'Alchemist!

Yes, I have every intention of mixing up something to say that will cause some kind of visceral reaction to the reality that captures our attention at times to our own detriment.

Yes, I will attempt to rattle your cage.

My intent, is to illuminate! I hate to hit my spiritual toe against those low lying things that I could avoid if I had a little light. So, don't be surprised to read something you may have been afraid to think or much less share with someone else.

Spiritual potions can bring both healing and harm, it really depends on the intent of the wizard.....

This wizard is married to the author of this blog. We share so much in common that at times our voice is singular.

Transition

Through this time of transition I find myself contemplating
I will sometimes be alone... I will have friends sometimes ... those friends might leave me... but through it all as I listen to some good reggae dub and blaze up I know there are some who care enough to ask me :o)
